RUSH Sprints Added to Tri-City Raceway Park Docket and Divisional Sponsors Announced

(Franklin, PA April 29, 2021):  This Sunday evening (May 2), race fans will not only get to witness the first appearance by Tony Stewart’s All Star Circuit of Champions Sprint Cars in three years at Tri-City Raceway Park, but also the non-wing RUSH Sprint Cars in their first of five visits to the Venango County half-mile in 2021!  The RUSH Sprint Cars will be presented by Gary Glass Automotive (Venus, PA) and the Washington House (Fryburg, PA) in 2021 at Tri-City.

Sunday’s event will pay $600 to-win, $150 to-start as will the June 6 and July 18 events.  The Gary Glass Automotive/Washington House RUSH Sprint Cars will then return as part of the two-day Labor Day weekend extravaganza on September 4-5 with a complete show each night paying $1,000 to-win, $175 to-start!  The latter will be part of RUSH’s four-race “Legends Remembered” Series with more details to be announced on this exciting program.  

The Gary Glass Automotive/Washington House RUSH Sprint Cars made two appearances at Tri-City in 2020 with Jeremy Weaver and Zach Morrow victorious.  Prior to last year, the RUSH Sprints made a pair of visits in 2018 at Tri-City with Arnie Kent and Chad Ruhlman picking up wins.  Will there be another new winner on Sunday evening!?

The Tri-City events will be part of RUSH’s $20,000+ Weekly Series Championship presented by Equipment Rental Options, co-owned by RUSH Sprint Car racer Arnie Kent, as the 2021 RUSH Champion will earn $5,000!  Past RUSH Champions include Chad Ruhlman (2018-2019) and Jeremy Weaver (2020).  

Ruhlman will be driving for Franklin car owner Tim Engles, while 2020 championship car owner Ted Hull of nearby Oil City will have Sprint Car great Rod George behind the wheel.  George owns 45 “410” Sprint Car wins at Tri-City.  Other local racers competing in the Gary Glass Automotive/Washington House Sprint Car division include Gale Ruth, Jr. and Sr. (Pleasantville), Steve Pedley (Seneca), Brian Hartzell (Oil City), Blaze Myers (Franklin), A.J. MacQuarrie (Titusville), and Ricky Tucker (Titusville) along with many others from throughout the region. 

The RUSH Sprint Cars were launched in 2018 as a true “cost containment” non-wing division featuring the Chevrolet Performance RUSH 602 sealed crate engine sold direct from Pace Performance, Fueled by methanol, the RUSH Sprint Cars  compete on spec RUSH Hoosier Tires and $150 sealed/spec Bilstein Shocks.
