Rain Claims WoO Late Model Event; Sprint Cars and More Coming to Tri-City Raceway Park

(Franklin, PA August 21, 2022):  Inclement weather claimed another victory at Tri-City Raceway Park on August 21. This time, it was the World of Outlaws Late Model Series that lost the opportunity to race on the big half mile oval located in Oakland Township, just outside of Franklin. The event will not be made up.

“We are really disappointed to lose this one to weather,” said track owner Merle Black. It has been a long time since that series raced here. Now our attentions will turn to the Sprint Car Special.”

The next show on the card will be the big Sprint Car special to be held on August 28. The racers from Western Ohio that compete with the FAST Sprint Series (formerly the Fremont Attica Sprint Tour) will take on the track’s Shawgo Real Estate 410 Sprint Cars in a battle for $3,000 to win. The Shawgo Real Estate LLC contingent will be led by former champion Jack Sodeman, Jr. A.J. Flick, one of the nation’s most successful Sprint Car drivers, will be on hand as he tries to regain the top spot in the championship standings.

The Allegheny Sprint Tour will bring their 305 powered Sprint Cars to the big half mile. The Hovis Auto & Truck Supply Pro Stocks will present twin features. The extra race will make up for the rained out event from earlier this month. The 4 Your Car Connection Mini Stocks will also join the fun.

In an effort to accommodate the FAST 410 Sprint Car teams that will need to journey home after the show, racing will get off to an early start. The Pro Stock make up race will hit the track at 5:30 and then the scheduled August 28 format will begin. The 410 Sprint feature will be the first of the evening’s main events, and it will be held before the intermission.

Watch the website and social media for any changes or additions as that race date approaches.
