FAST Sprints Coming to Tri-City Raceway Park

(Franklin, PA July 19, 2023):  On Sunday, July 23, Tri-City Raceway Park will host the FAST on Dirt Sprint Car Series. The tour, which is based in Ohio, will bring a dozen or more racers to the Venango County oval to conclude a three-race swing. The first two events will be held in the Buckeye State, so this will be a great opportunity for the local fans to see the visitors challenge the Diehl Chevrolet Sprint Car stars who compete regularly at the track.

Four of the top FAST racers are familiar to the Tri-City faithful.

Brandon Spithaler sits second in the tour’s points. He has one tour win in the region and one Diehl Chevrolet victory at Tri-City. Jack Sodeman, Jr., currently ranks sixth in the series, but the former Tri-City champion is still looking for his first victory on tour and at Tri-City. Sunday would be a chance for him to get into the win column with both. Jeremy Weaver has plenty of laps around Tri-City, too. He will be seeking his first triumph at the track and on tour. Who will get the bragging rights of one of these fellows takes the checkered flag?

Ricky Peterson is the FAST series point leader heading into this three-race stretch. He won the Tri-City opener with a local car, and he was back last Sunday with his own machine to get some more track time.

Other FAST racers expected include Jordan Ryan, Sean Rayhall, Justin Clark, Mitch Harble, Kasey Jedrzejek, Trey Jacobs, Danny Sams, III, and Reece Saldana. Saldana has great bloodlines in the sport. His dad, Joey, and grandpap, Joe, are members of the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame.

Bob Felmlee, last week’s winner in the Diehl Chevrolet Sprints, took a bite out of the point lead of defending track champ, A.J. Flick. Success for either one of them this week will not change the standings, though, as all Sprint Car racers will receive the same amount of points, called “show points,” for attending the event.

Other Diehl Chevrolet Sprint regulars expected include Blaze Myers, Andy Cavanaugh, Bodey McClintock, and Darrin Gallagher.

You certainly will want to see this special event!

Joining the fun will be the Pitt Stop Pub 358 Modifieds, the Hovis Auto & Truck Supply Pro Stocks, and 4 Your Car Connection Four Cylinder Mini Stocks.

The Pit gates will open at 2 p.m., and the spectator gates will open at 4 p.m. Practice will begin at 6 p.m. Come out early to get your favorite seats.

The adult general admission price will be $20. Seniors (age 62 and up) and Students (ages 10 to 16) will be admitted for $15. The children (under age 10) will be free, as usual. The Family Pass will be available for $60, and that will be good for two adults of any age and two Students. Pit Passes will be $35.

Remember that there will be a Demolition Derby and Enduro race held at Tri-City Raceway park on July 30.

Sunday Thunder (regular four-division racing) will resume on August 6. That will also be autograph night.
