Weather Claims Tri-City Raceway Park Again

(Franklin, PA May 7, 2023):  Afternoon storm activity continuing into the evening led to the postponement of the opener for Tri-City Raceway Park. The first round of activity will now be held on May 21, as the speedway will be closed on May 14 in observance of Mother’s Day.

“The third time will be the charm,” track owner Merle Black said optimistically.

On the docket for May 21 will be a Sunday Thunder program consisting of the 410 Sprint Cars, 358 Modifieds, Hovis Auto & Truck Sappy Pro Stocks, and 4 Your Car Connection Four Cylinder Mini Stocks. The awards will be presented to the Sprint Car and 358 Modified competitors for the 2022 season.

A new date will be set to honor the Pro Stock and Mini Stock racers.

Black is also negotiating with RUSH Racing Series officials to find a workable date to bring in the RUSH Sprints.

Please watch the track website and your favorite media outlets for any schedule changes.
