Military Night at Tri-City Raceway Park on Sunday
(Franklin, PA May 13, 2021): Tri-City Raceway Park will be back in action this Sunday, May 16, with an exciting four-division program consisting of the Shawgo Real Estate, LLC 410 Sprint Cars, the Krill Recycling, LLC 358 Modifieds, the Hovis Auto & Truck Supply Pro Stocks, and the 4 Your Car Connection Mini Stocks. In addition, it will be Military Night at the track, so all current and former members of the U.S. armed forces will be admitted for free with a military identification card.
When the speedway last hosted a Sunday Thunder event, A.J. Flick held off George Hobaugh and Jack Sodeman, Jr. to score his first win of the season at the Venango County oval. Flick did not enter the All Stars Circuit of Champions event, though, so he will be looking to regain some momentum when the Shawgo Real Estate, LLC 410 Sprint Cars take to the track. He will have plenty of competition from Brandon Spithaler, Carl Bowser, Bob Felmlee, and Brent and Brandon Matus, among others.
After years of frustration, Franklin’s own Kevin Hoffman finally got to victory lane at his home track. He topped the Krill Recycling, LLC 358 Modifieds. Kyle Inman and Jeremiah Shingledecker chased him across the finish line, so you can count on them to be in the thick of things, too. Kyle Fink is still looking for his first victory as well. They will be joined by Jimmy Holden, Max Smoker, Sid Unverzagt, Jr., Eric Beggs, Ryan Riffe, and many more.
In the Hovis Auto & Truck Supply Pro Stocks, young Tyler Wyant got his first career victory. Curtis J. Bish, Josh Seippel, Wiliam Hurrelbrink, and Doug Iorio, II are just a few of the veterans who will want to teach Wyant a lesson or two.
The 4 Your Car Connection Mini Stocks had a doubleheader a couple of weeks ago, This time, they will have only one feature event, so the racing will be intense. Justin Bailey and Dalton Speer split the wins, and they will have about twenty other drivers to contend with.
The pit gates will open at 2 p.m. and the front gates will open at 4 p.m. Racing will start at 6 p.m.
General admission prices for adults (ages 16-61) will be $15, seniors (62 and up) will be $13, and students (ages 11-16) will be $10. Children (ages 10 and under) will be admitted for free. The Family Pass will be $45, and that will apply to two adults and two students. Pit Passes will be $30.
Mark your calendars for May 23, when the ULMS Late Models will make their appearance. Joining them will be the 305 Sprint Cars. There will be a pair of features for the winged warriors.
