Late Models Coming to Tri-City Raceway Park Sunday
(Franklin, PA May 20, 2021): Tri-City Raceway Park will hold its one and only Late Model race this Sunday, May 24. The stars and cars of the United Late Model Series Northern Region will cap off a three-day speed fest with a 30 lap event paying $3,000 to the winner. Also on the racing card will be the 305 Sprint Cars doing battle in a pair of features, as a race was carried over from the 2020 season. All of this action is being presented courtesy of Donovan and Bauer Auto Group, of Titusville, PA.
The ULMS made its last appearance at Tri-City back in 2018. Things have changed since then, with ULMS now boasting three distinct championships. In addition to the Northern Region, there is a Southern Region and, then, there is the National Tour.
One thing that has not changed is that Max Blair will be a prime contender for the win. Blair, who cut his teeth racing at Tri-City, is the National points leader and he has a pair of wins to his credit. He also sits atop the Southern Regional standings. Blair is the leading winner in ULMS history and he will be looking to get his new ride, the potent Viper car, into victory lane at his home track.
Currently atop the North region points is Michael Norris, with a single victory. Norris is a familiar name to Late Model fans in the Western PA area, as he is a former track champion at Lernerville Speedway.
But there will be other familiar names in the field as well. Expected to compete are Jared Miley, Alex Ferree, and Gregg Satterlee, all former champions in the area. Also expected will be some promising Rookie of the Year contenders, Ryan Scott, Deshawn Gingerich, and Cody Egner. Maybe one of them will upset the veteran racers!
The racing action will start at 6 p.m. Spectators will be admitted to the grounds at 4 p.m. and the pit gates will open at 2 p.m. for the competitors.
The ticket pricing will be $20 for adults (ages 16 and up) and $12 for students (ages 11 to 15). The children (ages 10 and under) will be admitted for free. Pit Passes will be $35.
There is plenty of free parking at Tri-City Raceway Park.
If you cannot make it to the track this weekend, Sunday Thunder will return on May 30, featuring the 410 Sprint Cars under the Shawgo Real Estate LLC banner, the 358 Modifieds racing for Krill Recycling LLC, the Pro Stocks presented by Hovis Auto & Truck Supply, and the Mini Stocks contending for the 4 Your Car Connection crown. Also coming soon will be the finale for the Western PA Sprint Speedweek, on June 6. You will not want to miss that one!
